Top Ten Tuesday: Packing List

Top Ten Tuesday: Packing List

trip

With summer break only a few weeks away, it is time to start planning for your summer vacations.

Where are you going this year?  It is exotic? Rural? Nearby? Far away?  Is it your annual destination? A new adventure?

No matter where your travels take you in the next few months, it is important to be well prepared.  Below are ten items that should be in your suitcase on every trip.

10 Items You Need to Pack for Every Trip

1. Books

Whether you are bored on the plane or cannot sleep because of rowdy hotel neighbors, books will keep you company during your entire trip.

2. Pillow and Blanket

Nothing carries the comforts of home quite like your favorite pillow and blanket.

3. Water Bottle

Stay hydrated!

4. Socks and Pajamas

I always seem to overlook some basic item of clothing.  Don’t forget these necessities!

5. Camera

Preserve the memories.

6. Toothpaste

Before you leave, think through your morning and evening routines to guarantee that you have packed everything you will need to remain clean.

7. Snacks

Traveling always makes me super hungry!  Keep some apples, trail mix, granola, or crackers in your bag for a quick snack.

8. Money and a Budget

Not only will you need spending money, you should also have a basic idea of how much you will spend.   For example, if you are taking a week-long road trip, try to estimate how much you will need daily for gas, food, and lodging.  If you know you will be tempted by the outlet malls at the beach, set aside extra money to spend while you are there.

9. “Bad” Clothes

Engage in a food fight, hike through mud puddles, swim under a waterfall, but do not ruin your Lily Pulitzer sundress!

10. A Watch

If the iPhone loses all of its battery, a watch will still know what time it is.
